Nneka Okolo holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and a Master's degree in Big Data (specialization in Data Science and Machine Learning) from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Senegal. She is currently a doctorate student at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Spain where she specializes in Reinforcement Learning Theory. She is a Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Alumna and IVADO 2019 Fellow.
Nneka, in her academic journey, held a 4-month research position in the laboratory of the Decision Analysis Research Group (GERAD) at École Polytechnique de Montréal as an AIMS-IVADO Fellow. There, she applied reinforcement learning application to integrated multi-period planning. Now, her research interests span Autonomous and Intelligent systems. Nneka is skilled in Python programming language and generally the application of machine learning techniques. She enjoys exploring Rubik's cube designs, drawing, coding and is quite open to learning.
